Crafting Miniatures with Tacky Glue
What is Miniature Crafting?
Have you ever scrolled through photos of incredible dollhouses, thinking, “I could never do that.” Well, the good news is, you absolutely can! This project requires no fancy tools or prior experience. If you can use glue, you’re ready! Using paper, scissors and a little imagination, you can create miniature furniture and miniature accessories you can be proud of!
What Supplies Do I Need for Miniature Crafting?
- Aleene’s Original Tacky Glue
- Cardstock (for walls and floor)
- Colored papers
- Scissors
- Craft knife
- Fabric
- Miniature furniture pieces
Step 1: Assemble Room Walls & Floor
Glue colored paper over cardstock for walls and floor. Cut out window opening from one wall. Assemble wall and floor pieces into a miniature room setting. Glue in place and hold together until dry.
Step 2: Create Miniatures to Fill Room
Now is time to create the miniatures that will fill your room! Using paper and Tacky Glue, we created a lampshade, plants, window curtains, rug, storage boxes and more. Next, we added a few pieces of premade miniature furniture to add extra touches. Get creative with your miniatures to make your room as detailed as possible.
Step 3: Fill Your Room with Miniature Furniture
Now comes the fun part…filling your room! Place your miniatures wherever you think they’ll look best!
Congratulations! You didn’t just create a miniature room you created a world in miniature. From tiny cuts and folds held together with your glue, this project proves you have the essential skills. Take a moment to be proud of what you made. You’re not just curious anymore, you are officially a miniature maker!
