With a few supplies like felt and Original Tacky Glue, get your family in the holiday spirit with this fun and easy Christmas craft for kids. What you need:
- Aleene's Original Tacky Glue
- Felt in desired colors
- Stocking pattern (see below for download)
- Coins - penny, dime and quarter
- Scalloped shears (optional)
First you'll want to decide which felt colors you'd like to use for your ornaments. You can go with traditional holiday colors or mix it up with fun, vibrant shades!
Print the stocking template included in this post and use it to trace stocking shapes on felt and cut out. You will need two pieces per ornament.
Cut strips of felt from another color that will be the band of the stocking. You can use scalloped shears if you want to add an extra decorative touch!
Add a line of Tacky Glue around edges of bottom piece and press the top piece in place over the glue. Remember to leave the top open! Glue the band piece along the top edge, then cut another small piece of felt to create the hanger. Fold the piece in half and glue along the cut edges; glue to the inside top edge of stocking at the back. Let dry completely.
To create a snowman decoration for the front of the stocking ornaments, trace your three coins onto white felt and cut out. Glue largest circle at the base, medium in the center and the smallest circle on top. Create a cute hat and carrot nose to glue to the top piece! You can also cut out stars, stripes and other festive designs to decorate the fronts of your stockings. Let dry completely.
Now your stocking ornaments are ready to stuff with goodies and hang on the tree!
