How to DIY a No-Sew Ghost Pillow with Insta-Fuse Fabric Fusion
It’s never too early to start decorating for Halloween, and DIY Halloween décor is easy when you’re working with Aleene’s! Add a touch of coziness to your seasonal display with a homemade boucle ghost pillow. This simple project uses Aleene’s Insta-Fuse Fabric Fusion for a no-sew plush that’s ready to display in minutes— no need to wait for glue to dry!
Supplies needed:
Aleene’s Insta-Fuse Fabric Fusion
Round pillow
White boucle fabric
Boucle pumpkin
Black felt
Scissors
Iron
Thin cotton cloth or pressing cloth
Step 1: Gather materials
Gather the materials needed for this ghost pillow. Make sure you have enough white boucle fabric to drape over the round pillow completely. Preheat your iron to the highest setting suitable for boucle fabric, no steam.
Step 2: Drape fabric
To create the ghost pillow body, apply a thin coat of Aleene’s Insta-Fuse Fabric Fusion to the top of the pillow. Drape the boucle fabric over the pillow and adjust as desired to create a ghostly shape. Once you’re satisfied with the placement, place a thin cloth over the glued area and iron for 30 seconds in a circular motion to activate the adhesive.
Step 3: Place eyes and pumpkin
Cut two oval eyes from black felt for your ghost pillow. Apply an even coat of Insta-Fuse Fabric Fusion to the back of each eye and press into place. To activate the adhesive, place a thin cloth over the glued area and iron the glued area for 30 seconds in a circular motion.
To have your ghost pillow hold a small boucle pumpkin, apply a small amount of adhesive to either side of the pumpkin and press the draped fabric onto the glued area, place a thin cloth over the area, and iron to activate.
Step 4: Display!
Once the adhesive has been activated, your ghost pillow is ready to display! Get ready for an extra cozy fall season with this adorable DIY Halloween décor!
