How to Make a Giant Bow with Fabric Glue
Creating a giant bow to hang on a wall is a great way to add a wow factor to any room. A giant bow can elevate everyday décor and also makes a perfect Christmas bow for festive decorating. Here we show you how to create a stunning giant bow using your choice of fabric and Aleene’s adhesives.
Supplies
- Aleene’s Insta-Fuse Fabric Fusion
- Aleene’s Stiffen Quik Fabric Stiffening Spray
- Fabric of choice (amount varies by bow size)
- Scissors
- Zip ties
- Iron
- Thin cloth
Step 1: Choose & Cut Fabric for Giant Bow
Decide how big you want your giant bow to be. A good wall size is about 24–36 inches wide. You will need four pieces: one large loop piece, one small center piece, and two long tail pieces.
Step 2: Spray Fabric with Stiffen-Quik
Spray all fabric pieces with Aleene’s Stiffen Quik Fabric Stiffening Spray. Use Aleene’s Insta-Fuse according to package instructions to finish the edges.
Step 3: Gather Center of Bow
Accordion-fold the center of the loop fabric to create the bow shape and secure with a zip tie.
Step 4: Create Center Knot
Wrap the smallest fabric piece around the center to create a knot. Secure with Aleene’s Insta-Fuse Fabric Fusion.
Step 5: Assemble & Hang
Lay out the loops and tails, secure the center, and spray with more Stiffen Quik if desired. Fluff the bow, then hang using command hooks or nails.
