Turn Used Kids’ Clothes into Custom Cloth Napkins with Fabric Glue
Do you still have old kids' clothing that you can't bring yourself to part with? Turn it into something sentimental and functional with Aleene's! This tutorial from Sibia Torres will show you how to use Aleene's Quick Dry Fabric Fusion to turn used kids' clothes into custom napkins full of cherished childhood memories. Quick Dry Fabric Fusion dries up to 10 times faster than our original Fabric Fusion formula, so your custom cloth napkins will be ready to use in no time!
Supplies Needed:
Aleene's Quick Dry Fabric Fusion
Cloth napkins
Fabric scissors
Used kids' clothes with pockets
Step 1: Cut out pockets from used kids' clothing
For this project, Sibia Torres is preserving the pockets of gently used kids' clothing. Use fabric scissors to cut out the pockets from the fabric.
Step 2: Apply fabric glue to pockets
Apply Aleene's Quick Dry Fabric Fusion to the back of each pocket on three sides, leaving the top side unglued. This will allow the pockets to remain functional on your custom cloth napkins!
Step 3: Press the glued pocket onto cloth napkin
Place the glued fabric onto the corner of a cloth napkin, leaving about an inch of space around the edge. Press the glued areas firmly to adhere the three sides.
Step 4: Repeat steps 2-3
Repeat this process with all the pockets to create as many custom cloth napkins as desired and allow the glued fabric to dry completely.
Step 5: Arrange and enjoy!
Arrange your cloth napkins as desired and enjoy! These custom cloth napkins add a unique touch to your table setting décor and are a wonderful reminder of how much your children have grown.
