DIY Leather Earrings
Even if you're never made your own jewerly before, there's no time like the present to get started! DIYing your own stylish set of earrings you'll actually want to wear on the regular is super easy, and we're going to show you how. With real or faux leather swatches, a craft knife and Aleene's Leather & Suede Glue, you'll have a fab new treat for your ears in no time.
What you need:- Aleene's Leather & Suede Glue
- Leather swatches (desired colors)
- Earring template
- Craft knife
- Hole punch
- Earring fishhooks
Making your own pretty boho-style earrings is easier than you think, and you only need a few supplies! You can use real leather or faux, and make sure to have two coordinating colors for layering.
Place your base color leather swatch on a cutting mat with your larger earring template on top. Use a craft knife to cut two base pieces from the leather. Repeat with the smaller template on the other leather swatch.
Use your hole punch to punch a hole at the top of each base piece. Align the top pieces with the bases and punch a hole in each top piece to match.
Apply Leather & Suede Glue to the backside of each top piece and press in place over the base pieces. Let dry completely.
Make sure the punched holes at the tops of each align when glued together, so you can easily fit your fishhook through.
Attach fishhooks, and you're ready to treat your ears to a fab new pair of earrings!
