No-Sew DIY Lampshade with Fabric Fusion

This DIY lampshade tutorial from @city_laundry will show you how to create a pleated lampshade with Aleene’s Fabric Fusion— no sewing needed!
Supplies Needed:
Aleene's Spray Pump Fabric Fusion
Aleene's Fabric Fusion
Fabric
Scissors
Iron + ironing board
Lampshade + lamp
Measuring tape
Step 1: Take measurements for your DIY lampshade
To customize your DIY lampshade, first measure the height and circumference of the lampshade with measuring tape. Measure and cut fabric to fit the height and double the circumference of your lampshade. For this project, @city_laundry is using a vibrant yellow fabric with playful polka dots!
Step 2: Pleat the fabric
Preheat an iron to the highest suitable setting for your fabric. Place the fabric on an ironing board, fold to create a 1-inch pleat, and press the fold with the hot iron. Repeat this process to pleat the length of the fabric.
Step 3: Glue pleated fabric onto the lampshade
Spray Fabric Fusion onto a section of the lampshade, place the pleated fabric on top, and press to secure in place. Work in sections and continue this process until the entire DIY lampshade is wrapped in pleated fabric.
Step 4: Hem the edges of the lampshade
Measure, cut, and iron strips of fabric to create “hems” for the raw edges of your DIY lampshade. Apply Fabric Fusion along the rims of the pleated lampshade, then press the strips of fabric into the glue to cover the top and bottom edges.
Step 5: Let dry and enjoy!
Once the glue has dried completely, your DIY lampshade is ready to display! Reassemble your lamp with its custom pleated lampshade and enjoy one-of-a-kind home décor that lights up your space!
