Unicorn Vase Popsicle Stick Craft for Kids

Let your kids get creative with a simple yet adorable Popsicle stick craft! This tutorial from Craft Box Girls will teach you and your little ones how to make a whimsical unicorn vase with wooden craft sticks and Aleene’s Original Tacky Glue. This easy kids’ craft is a great way to let their creativity blossom, and it’s perfect for displaying your spring blooms too!

What you need:

Step 1 Prepare your craft supplies

Before you and your kiddo start on this Popsicle stick craft, gather your supplies. Have your little one pick out which colors they’d like to paint their unicorn—for this project, we used Tulip Soft Fabric Paints in White and Purple for the head and horn, and Tulip Dimensional Fabric Paints in Pink Petunia (Matte), Silver (Glitter), and Black (Slick) for the face details.

Step 2 Paint the craft sticks

Pour a little bit of your base and horn colors onto a disposable plate or paint palette, and help your child paint the wooden craft sticks. Use two smaller craft sticks to create the unicorns horn.

Step 3 Cut paper to wrap around can and secure with Tacky Glue

Once your paints have dried, its time to assemble your Popsicle stick craft! Cut out a piece of paper to wrap around your tin can and use Aleenes Original Tacky Glue to secure it in place.

Step 4 Glue craft sticks to the can

Next, have your child use a bit of nontoxic Aleenes Original Tacky Glue to glue each craft stick around the surface of the can. This will be their unicorns head!

Step 5 Create the unicorns horn and ears

To create a unicorn horn, take your two smaller painted craft sticks and glue them together to form an upside-down V. Cut a piece of craft paper into a triangle and glue it to the back side of the horn. Then, cut out some shapes from your craft paper for your unicorns ears.

Step 6 Assemble your unicorn vase

Your Popsicle stick craft is almost done! Secure the ears and horn to the vase with Tacky Glue, then use Tulip Dimensional Fabric Paints to paint on a pretty unicorn face. If youd like, you can create a fun flower crown for your unicorn out of craft paper just use more Tacky Glue to secure it in place.

Step 7 Display flowers in your unicorn vase

Once your paints and glue have dried completely, your Popsicle stick craft is finished! Complete the look with some freshly cut flowers from the garden, or keep the crafting going and make some pretty paper flowers to display in this adorable unicorn vase.
