DIY Coastal Décor: Sand and Seashell Picture Frame with Tacky Glue

Step 1: Mix sand and Tacky Glue
The “grout” for this DIY coastal décor is made with sand and Aleene’s Original Tacky Glue for a rustic, beach-inspired base! Add 1 cup of clean decorative sand and ½ cup of Tacky Glue to a plastic container, then mix until it is a cohesive, spreadable texture.
Step 2: Apply Tacky Glue to the frame
Work in small sections to assemble your seashell picture frame. Begin by applying a thin layer of Tacky Glue onto the frame— this will help the sand mixture stick to the wood.
Step 3: Spread sand mixture onto the frame
Spread a thick layer of the sand mixture onto the glued area of the frame, then press seashells into the sand mixture to adorn your seashell picture frame.
Step 4: Repeat to finish your seashell picture frame
Repeat steps 2 and 3 to complete your seashell picture frame. The sand mixture should cover the edges of the shells to securely hold them in place. Use your hands to mold the sand mixture around the shells as needed.
