When we think of spring, we think of beautiful flowers and butterflies— what better way to combine our love of the two spring staples with this super easy butterfly wreath? This simple tutorial from Pink and Posey will show you how to use Aleene’s The Ultimate Multi-Surface Adhesive to create a gorgeous floral butterfly wreath that will surely be your new favorite spring décor!
Step 1
First, create some butterflies for your butterfly wreath. Start by wrapping a piece of floral tape to create the body. Cover the body with wool roving and secure with a few small beads of The Ultimate. Remember, a little goes a long way!
Step 2
Create antennae for your butterfly by cutting out small leaf-shaped pieces from the crepe paper. Fold it in half and cut diagonally toward the middle to create a fringe effect on the antennae. Use a dab of The Ultimate on the bottom of each antenna and secure to the head of your butterfly.
Step 3
Cut out wing shapes from the crepe paper for your butterfly, then glue wire to the backside to support the wings. Once the glue has dried, glue the wings to the body. If you’d like, you can add details to the wings with a chalk pen.
Step 4
Now that your butterflies are made, you’re ready to decorate your wreath! Use a premade floral wreath that you love, or make your own with a plain grapevine wreath and your choice of faux foliage. Use a dab of The Ultimate to secure your beautiful butterflies in place and allow to dry completely. Display your new butterfly wreath on the door or mantle and brace yourself for some spring fever!
